The new clutch has been developed by H.A.R.M. Racing in order to cover a wide range of application.
The clutch blocks can be mounted in as well as against rotating direction. This leads to total different operation methods of the clutch.
If the blocks are mounted in rotating direction engagement is much smoother. This is especially interesting on slippery tracks or for not so well experienced drivers.
Also Off-road smooth and little sliding engagement is normally an advantaged.
On tracks with very good grip conditions is the clutch used with blocks mounted against rotating direction. The engagement is now more accurate and defined.
The engagement rotation speed is adjusted through the adjustment shims for the springs. Further possibility of the adjustment are the grub screws in the clutch blocks which allow to raise the pre-load of the springs. Further advantage of the “BDC-3” clutch is the one-piece corpus. This allows perpendicular mounting of the clutch springs in connection to the clutch blocks which leads to very equal operation.The universal range of application in connection with the low-wear large-area clutch-shoes as well as the low weight of 86 g make this clutch a real all-round talent.
